A very short and simple mod about an urban zombie apocalypse. It's actually an Opposing Force mod, so make sure you got it installed before trying to launch, or else you'll get an error.

The mod follows the precepts of the "Running Zombies School of the Undead" that was popularized by 28 Days Later, so that means you'll be facing faster clones of Usain Bolt. Most of the gameplay consists of running backwards while unloading everything you have at them, making this feel more like Serious Sam than Resident Evil.

As evident, the mapping is barebones.

The mapping is quite simplistic, and the layouts abuse copypasting, but there are only 4 linear maps so it's hard to get lost. The thing I liked less was how dark they are on average. I spent most of the time with the night vision goggles turned on, which in turn hides the crosshair almost completely (and makes my eyes sore).

Neglect your footwork and you'll see things from this angle a lot of times.

These SWAT-like commandos are the only "living" enemies in the mod. Why do they always try to kill survivors, instead of rescuing them?

After the initial unremarkable office areas, you'll open out to an equally insipid urban zone. Finally you'll get down the steepest Metro stairs ever built (try not to break your neck), to conclude this short journey among burning subway cars. Not only there's no story, the mod doesn't even have an ending. You cross a door, the screen turns black and that's it. No credits, no transition to the main menu. Press Esc and do it yourself.

Not exactly breathtaking, are they?

It may not be great, but considering it lasts less than 15 minutes (why did I take so many screenshots?), I can hardly criticize it. There are new models for the pistol, shotgun, assault and sniper rifles, and ammo isn't scarce. If you're waiting for a lengthy download or a project compile to finish, get this mod, play through it and forget everything just as easily.

"CTRL", "C" and "V" were the most used keys during the development of this mod.
